Roadside Patrol Team Leader – Green Flag Patrol
An experienced vehicle repair professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment and is comfortable leading remote teams. You will balance roadside patrol duties with team‑leadership responsibilities, starting in a hybrid role and potentially evolving over time.
A bit about the job
Deliver proactive, efficient roadside support—diagnosing, repairing and resolving vehicle issues within agreed timescales to get customers back on the road quickly and safely.
Responsibilities
- Lead the day‑to‑day remote management of a patrol team, including performance, development and overall team capability.
- Drive team performance by monitoring, reporting and acting on key operational and sustainability metrics.
- Identify and maximise roadside repair and revenue opportunities while supporting customer needs and cost targets.
- Ensure safe working practices, compliance, safeguarding and fleet standards are consistently upheld across the team.
Skills and experience
- Relevant experience and qualifications within the vehicle repair industry (Level 3 or equivalent), with eligibility to meet insurance requirements (age 21+).
- Proven ability to coach and develop individuals, providing structured feedback to support performance and capability growth.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate business strategy into clear direction and priorities for your team.
- Effective collaborator, able to build relationships across teams to improve customer outcomes and operational performance.
- Good understanding of risk, governance and HR policies, ensuring compliance within an operational environment.
Location and hours
This permanent, field‑based role operates across the area covering Cheltenham, Gloucester, Stroud, Cirencester, Swindon, Chippenham, Devizes, Melksham, Didcot, Wantage, Abingdon, Oxford, Bicester, Thame, Witney, Tewkesbury. You will work 40 hours a week across four days (7am‑8pm shift window, Monday to Sunday). Finish times may vary depending on the job at hand. Overtime is available but optional.
