Protocol Education is working with a welcoming SEMH school in Gateshead to recruit dedicated Pastoral Mentors for the upcoming academic year.

The school prides itself on creating a supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to build confidence, improve emotional regulation and achieve positive outcomes.

Your Role

• Providing one-to-one pastoral support
• Helping pupils manage emotions and behaviour
• Supporting attendance and engagement across the school day
• Acting as a positive role model
• Building meaningful relationships with pupils
• Liaising with teaching staff and external professionals

Requirements

• Experience supporting children or young people
• Excellent relationship‑building skills
• Resilience, patience and adaptability
• Professional and calm approach
• Passion for inclusion and wellbeing
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
