Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Class 2 (C) Flatbed Steel Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a Class 2 (C) flatbed lorry to deliver steel efficiently and safely across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in driving Class 2 (C) vehicles. The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong communication skills, a professional attitude, and a commitment to safety. This is a multi‑drop position with no handball involved and the position may be temporary, potentially ongoing for the right driver.

Duties

• Safely operate a Class 2 (C) flatbed lorry in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
• Deliver steel to various sites, ensuring timely and accurate drop-offs.
• Secure load using ratchet straps – essential.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure operational safety.
• Follow all health and safety protocols, including adherence to driving hours regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving license with a clean driving record.
• Proven experience using ratchet straps – essential.
• Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members.
• Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to tipper driving and material handling.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrating organisational skills and reliability.

Mon to Fri – start time 0700.

Pay

• £16 per hour (basic) – holidays accrued.
• £21 per hour overtime after 8 hours – holidays accrued.
• £17.93 per hour – holidays included.
• £23.53 per hour overtime after 8 hours – holidays included.
