The job itself
A person in their early 20’s living in the Beverley area is looking for a Personal Assistant to help with accessing the community, go shopping, going to appointments, assisting with light domestic tasks as well as some personal cares. This person is a transgender man.
He has many physical health problems and the ability to do things day to day depends on this. He has poor hand dexterity which makes some small task very difficult for him.
Some support is required for personal care, including hair washing and support while showering and dressing, especially if clothing items have buttons, or small fastenings.
Light domestic duties will be required to assist this person to care and manage for their home, including some laundry and changing of bedding. Meal preparation and batch cooking are also required. The person will be involved in this as much as they can.
The Personal Assistant will need to be able to drive and have access to a car to be able to take them to appointments when needed. Business insurance will be required.
There are cats living in the property.
The hours are 14 per week, Monday to Friday. Times to be discussed further at interview, this person is willing to be flexible. They will need their Personal Assistant to be available for appointments; advance notice will be given for these.
DBS/Reference checks will be required for this post – Cost to be met by the local authority.
