Responsible for: Technical Consultation, Technical Sales Support and pre/post-Sales support
Job Summary / Overview: To provide Technical consultation and solution designs to both domestic and commercial customers. To provide technical support to the National Sales Director, including both pre and post sales.
Responsibilities:
Technical Consultation & Solution Design
• Provide expert technical advice on electric heating systems, including space heating, temperature maintenance, and freeze protection applications.
• Design and deliver heating schemes for domestic and commercial projects using specialist software
• Analyse customer requirements, site conditions, and technical specifications to develop tailored heating solutions.
• Interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and project documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to ensure solutions meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Stay up to date with developments in electric heating technologies, controls, and industry standards.
Technical Sales Support
• Prepare technical proposals, quotations, and tender submissions, including specifications and performance data.
• Respond promptly to customer enquiries, RFIs, and technical queries in a timely and professional manner.
• Support the Sales Director during contract discussions and negotiations.
• Support conversion of heating schemes into sales opportunities
• Conduct site visits where required to assess project needs and support solution development.
Pre- and Post-Sales Support
• Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including installation guidance and troubleshooting.
• Support with scheme commissioning where required.
• Gather and communicate customer feedback to support product development and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (desirable but not essential).
Skills & Competencies
• 3–5 years’ experience in technical sales, applications engineering, or a similar role.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Knowledge of electric heating systems (or ability to quickly develop product expertise).
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce) is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events as required.
