About the role
A specialist asset lending business is looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of the finance function. The business operates across multiple jurisdictions, has a strong track record of deployment and is in active growth mode, both organically and through acquisition.
This is a hands-on leadership role with meaningful exposure to funding structures, covenant reporting, lender relationships and cash management. You’ll be the primary contact for auditors and funding partners, and a key figure in developing the finance function as the business scales.
What the role involves
- Leading financial control and reporting across a multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction group
- Primary contact for external auditors through year-end and interim processes
- Financial reporting to funders, bondholders and lenders including covenant compliance
- Oversight of tax and statutory filings across multiple jurisdictions
- Managing accounting for loan origination, servicing and funding transactions
- Cash flow forecasting, debt servicing models and capital allocation
- Overseeing daily payments, banking relationships and payroll
- Managing and developing a small finance team with scope to grow it
- Driving process improvement, automation and efficiency across the function
What we’re looking for
- Qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Practice-trained with subsequent financial services industry experience
- Exposure to lending, structured finance or asset-backed environments strongly advantageous
- Strong technical accounting background across complex, multi-entity structures
- Comfortable engaging at board level
- Systems literate, advanced Excel, open to technology and automation
