Paralegal – Family Law (Private Law Team)

Greater Manchester | Full-Time | Competitive Salary

A well-established and highly regarded regional law firm is seeking a Paralegal to join its busy Family Law Department, supporting the Private Law Team from its Newport office.

The Role

Working alongside an experienced and friendly Family Law team, you will provide support on a varied caseload of private family matters while assisting fee earners with the day-to-day management of files.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Arranging client appointments and meetings
  • Managing diaries and schedules
  • Liaising with clients, courts and external agencies by telephone and email
  • Maintaining and updating case management systems and databases
  • Preparing court bundles and supporting documentation
  • Providing regular client contact and updates
  • Assisting with general file management and administrative duties
  • Supporting fee earners throughout the lifecycle of matters

Experience using CCMS would be advantageous, although training can be provided.

As the role may involve attending court hearings, meetings and other office locations, access to a car is essential.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Previous experience within a legal support or paralegal role
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Strong telephone manner
  • Good organisational and administrative abilities
  • Effective time management skills
  • Strong IT and computer literacy
  • The ability to work independently and use initiative
  • A professional and proactive approach
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team

A genuine interest in Family Law and a desire to progress within the legal profession would be highly advantageous.
