Senior Electrical Engineer | Building Services & Industrial Projects | Northampton | Up to £65,000
About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing engineering consultancy that delivers complex industrial, logistics, and technology-focused building projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of large-scale developments ranging from distribution facilities and warehouses to mission-critical environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer looking to take ownership of projects from concept through to completion, while working alongside multidisciplinary teams on technically challenging schemes.
What You Will Be Doing
You will be responsible for leading the electrical design and coordination of projects throughout the full project lifecycle, ensuring designs are delivered to the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and compliance.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading electrical design activities from concept and feasibility stages through to detailed design.
- Designing electrical systems for industrial, commercial, and technology-led building projects.
- Producing and reviewing electrical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Managing project budgets and monitoring costs throughout the design process.
- Planning and tracking project delivery using project management tools.
- Coordinating with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Preparing and reviewing technical documentation, including specifications, reports, calculations, and drawings.
- Identifying project risks and implementing appropriate mitigation measures.
- Supporting BIM coordination activities, including model reviews and clash detection.
- Providing technical support during construction phases, including site visits and project supervision when required.
We are looking for a motivated and technically strong Electrical Engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects and working within collaborative engineering environments.
Ideally, you will have:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering.
- Experience working on industrial, logistics, commercial, manufacturing, or mission-critical projects.
- Advanced AutoCAD skills.
- A solid understanding of UK electrical regulations and industry standards.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
