Job Description:

AI Automation Engineer

Salary: 70 – 90k with flexibility on the top end for an exceptionally matched candidate

Location: flexible provided you’re in either Spain or the UK and have right to work there

I’m working with a health tech company.

They’re building a clinical AI product used to support healthcare teams, and are now looking for an AI Automation Engineer to help build the internal AI operating layer of the business

This is not a standard AI Engineer role

It sits somewhere between:

  • Forward Deployed Engineer
  • AI Automation Engineer
  • Internal Tools Engineer
  • Technical Operations Engineeer
  • Solutions Engineer
  • Agentic Workflow Engineer

The company has a very strong senior leadership team, including founders and operators who have previously scaled unicorns. This role would suit someone who wants close exposure to experienced technical and commercial leaders, and wants to grow quickly in a high-calibre environment.

The work is about finding the manual processes that slow teams down, working out what is actually worth automating, building the automation, getting people to use it, and making sure it keeps working.

That could include workflows across GTM, CRM, call summaries, prospect research, content, hiring, onboarding, patient operations, internal knowledge and wider company operations

The strongest fit will be someone who can talk clearly through a workflow they have automated end-to-end:

  • What was the
  • problem?
  • How did they spot it?
  • Who did they speak to?
  • What did they build?
  • Who used it?
  • What did it save?
  • How did they know it kept working?

The core signals we’re looking for

  • Python, APIs, scripting, REST/webhook integrations
  • Experience with automation and/or agentic workflow tooling
  • Exposure to tools such as Claude, MCP, Claude Skills, Gemini, LangGraph, n8n, UiPathor similar
  • Strong communication with non-technical teams
  • Good judgement on what should and should not be automated
  • Commercial awareness around hours saved, errors reduced or productivity gained
  • A production mindset: logs, alerts, monitoring and maintenance

This is a high-trust role with real influence across the business. It should appeal to someone who is still hungry to grow, wants senior exposure, and wants their work to have visible impact beyond a narrow engineering backlog.
