Location: London
Job Description:

The opportunity

At Valtech, you’ll find an environment designed for continuous learning, meaningful impact, and professional growth. Whether you’re pioneering new digital solutions, challenging conventional thinking or building the next generation of customer experiences, your work will help transform industries.

You’ll work alongside multidisciplinary teams of strategists, architects, engineers, analysts, designers and consultants, helping enterprise organisations unlock value through data, AI and modern digital platforms.

Our capability is end‑to‑end; from strategy, discovery and advisory through to architecture, delivery and optimisation. We help clients balance business ambition with technical feasibility, ensuring transformation delivers measurable outcomes, not just great ideas.

Working across sectors including financial services, retail, automotive, media, healthcare, public sector and consumer brands, you’ll encounter a diverse range of challenges, levels of maturity and transformation priorities. Success in this role requires the ability to adapt your approach to different client environments while maintaining a relentless focus on value and impact.

As a Data Director, you’ll help organisations define future‑state data ecosystems, modernise cloud and data platforms, unlock AI opportunities and build scalable capabilities that drive long‑term growth.

You’re a consulting leader who thrives in complex enterprise environments, helping organisations turn data, AI and technology into measurable business outcomes. You’re equally comfortable facilitating C‑suite conversations, shaping transformation roadmaps and guiding clients through large‑scale change.

You combine strategic thinking with hands‑on technical credibility. Whether defining a data strategy, designing an operating model, modernising a cloud platform or exploring GenAI opportunities, you stay close to delivery and work alongside architects, engineers and product teams to turn vision into reality.

You excel in ambiguity, bringing structure to complex challenges and aligning stakeholders around a clear path forward. You connect business objectives, customer needs, operations, technology and data to design solutions that scale across organisations, not just individual systems.

You’ll build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, identify growth opportunities and contribute to new business development, while mentoring and developing consultants, architects and engineers across the wider practice.

Most importantly, you’re pragmatic. You focus on outcomes over theory, balancing strategic ambition with practical delivery to create lasting impact for clients.

  • Proven experience leading enterprise‑scale data transformation or AI programmes
  • Strong consulting background with experience operating in complex client environments
  • Experience shaping modern data strategies, architectures and operating models
  • Deep understanding of cloud data ecosystems across AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Experience working with modern data platforms and technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, Fabric or equivalent ecosystems
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills, including experience engaging senior leadership audiences
  • Hands‑on technical credibility across data engineering, analytics, AI or architecture disciplines
  • Experience balancing strategic advisory with practical delivery leadership
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and bring structure to evolving transformation programmes
  • Strong systems thinking, connecting business goals, technology, operations and data
  • Commercial awareness, including experience contributing to proposals, pre‑sales or account growth
  • Experience working within agile, cross‑functional delivery environments
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • A collaborative and pragmatic mindset focused on measurable outcomes
