The Tooling Stock Controller – Team Leader role ensures the Tooling operation is supported effectively to achieve the mission of “Right Tool, Right Place, Right Time”. Reporting to the Senior Tooling Supervisor – Engineering, the Team Leader manages the Tooling Stock Control element, ensuring work is carried out to a high standard and priorities are handled appropriately.
Responsibilities
- Promote Jet2.com and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Liaise with the Engineering Tooling leadership team and keep them informed of relevant developments.
- Instil a sense of pride in quality and high standards among Tooling Stock Controllers.
- Utilise the team efficiently to promptly and effectively action requirements based on priority.
- Direct and allocate tasks to ensure workloads are completed.
- Manage health and safety, welfare, training and HR matters for the team and report HR‑related matters to the Senior Tool Stores Supervisor.
- Review tooling analysis in a digitised format and support loan tooling in and out of the business.
- Continuously improve practices where feasible and acceptable.
- Comply with and uphold health and safety legislation and relevant aviation regulations.
- Support the Tooling leadership team with projects, analysis and management of change.
- Check invoices, monitor and ensure they are consistent with any supply agreements.
- Ensure the team:
- Attend maintenance pre‑input meetings and C‑Check meetings.
- Attend Work In Progress (W.I.P.) meetings with repair vendors.
- Forecast and chase progress of tooling repair orders.
- Carry out analysis of all aspects in tooling as necessary for phasing of shelf life, utilisation of tooling, shelf expiry and inventory control.
- Review tooling on Airbusworld and my Boeing fleet, TEM / TCBs, OITs, OEM requirements.
- Progress, track and distribute tooling to and from engineering outstations to meet business needs, respecting stock level, expiry and calibration requirements.
- Utilise and update Schedule 1 and relevant master base lists as necessary.
- Assist in reducing overall turnaround time in the repair cycle by supporting regular supplier meetings and internal stakeholders.
- Record all transactions and order updates correctly in the AMOS computer system.
- Monitor total stock holding and identify potential shortages due to scrap or increased activity.
- Ensure tooling issued to support down‑route AOGs is returned promptly from maintenance activities or Base Maintenance Organisations and recorded on AMOS.
- Liaise with all sections within Jet2.com Engineering & MROs in support of maintenance.
- Review ‘Open Orders’ and ‘Materials Development’ reports weekly.
- Progress repair quotes throughout the Tooling Department to ensure internal approvals and feedback to suppliers.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Stock Controller or Repairs Management role.
- Strong IT skills, including MS Office.
- Due diligence and excellent communication skills.
- Availability for full office hours, Monday to Friday (no hybrid working).
Working Hours
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday during office hours.
