We’re a proud, long-established family business with a passion for quality, craft and innovation. Now, we’re looking for a proactive and capable Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Manager to help deliver the next generation of landmark projects.
Role Responsibilities
As the QS/Contracts Manager, you’ll take ownership of your projects from order to final account.
- Lead and coordinate site teams across multiple high-profile projects
- Ensure every element of GJ work meets our exceptional standards and stays on programme
- Take commercial responsibility, including monthly valuations and final accounts
- Act as the face of George Jackson, building trusted relationships with clients and project teams
- Review drawings, programmes and specifications, and create accurate GJ sub-programmes
- Manage material call-offs from our workshop to keep production and site running smoothly
- Maintain exceptional safety, organisation and professionalism on site
- Prepare method statements, risk assessments and project documentation
Candidate Requirements
We’re looking for someone who brings commitment, competence and a desire to grow. Ideal candidates will have:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in construction, interiors or specialist trades an advantage, but not essential
- Good IT skills, particularly in Excel
- Excellent communication skills — clear, professional and client friendly
- A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn and improve
- Ability to read and understand drawings and programmes of works
