Lead Pricing Developer
Acting as the technical lead and subject‑matter expert within the Head Office Pricing function. Designing, building and implementing pricing models and rating logic to support robust, compliant pricing decisions. 80% hybrid working with 20% from our Stratford Upon Avon Office.

You’ll be a Lead Pricing Developer, shaping and delivering high‑quality pricing solutions, acting as an escalation point for technical queries and ensuring pricing outputs meet regulatory, business and customer expectations.
Work closely with stakeholders across Pricing, Underwriting, IT and wider departments, influencing decisions through insight and expertise. Alongside hands‑on delivery, you’ll act as a technical role model, supporting colleagues through coaching, mentoring and change. Internally, this role is called Principal Analyst.
About You
This is a senior technical role offering hands‑on development opportunities. You bring deep technical expertise in pricing, rating development or an actuarial environment, a proactive, delivery‑focused mindset, and confidence leading technical work.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and review pricing models and rating algorithms.
- Lead complex development work and act as escalation point for technical queries.
- Ensure pricing outputs meet regulatory, business and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Pricing, Underwriting, IT and other departments.
- Coach, mentor and support colleagues to improve technical skills and practices.
- Prepare, validate and query data (SQL, SAS, R or equivalent).
- Communicate complex technical outputs clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications
- Strong technical experience within a pricing, rating development or actuarial environment.
- Advanced experience designing, building and reviewing pricing models and rating algorithms.
- Proficiency with pricing tools such as RADAR, EMBLEM, R or equivalent platforms.
- Experience working with data, including preparation, validation and query writing (e.g., SQL, SAS or R).
- Ability to communicate complex technical outputs clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Commitment to continuous development, mentoring and professional qualification progress.
