The Role


Team Manager in the Redditch and Wychavon Families First District Team


We are seeking a Team Manager with a social work qualification and sufficient experience to lead our Families First team. You will oversee staff assessing the needs of children and families, identify and manage risk, and help develop plans to increase safety and meet needs. You will work alongside two other social work team managers and two team leaders.


Responsibilities



  • Supervise staff who work directly with children and families in their homes and in other environments such as schools.

  • Understand the strengths and skills of staff and the needs of families to match families to the right lead practitioner during allocations meetings.

  • Support staff to manage risk and make threshold decisions in relation to child protection matters and changes in level of need.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Social Workers, Outreach Workers, Money Mentors, Family Support Workers, Youth Mentors, Substance Misuse, Emotional Health/Wellbeing Workers, Family Decision Coordinators and Advanced Social Work Practitioners.


Qualifications and Experience



  • Social work qualification (Sociology, Social Work or equivalent).

  • Experience in social care leadership and managing multidisciplinary teams.

  • Knowledge of child protection, risk assessment and safe safeguarding practices.
