Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse – Critical Care

Main area: Surgery. Grade: Band 6. Contract: Permanent. Hours: 37.5 per week. Job ref 162-7752-SUR.

Site: QH Critical Care Town Romford. Salary: £45,953 – £54,254 per annum. Closing: 21/06/2026.

Main duties of the job

  • Ensure effective lines of communication are maintained across the multidisciplinary team and throughout the Trust.
  • Promote positive and collaborative working relationships with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to the development and review of ITU/HDU protocols and guidelines.
  • Actively participate in preceptorship and clinical supervision programmes.
  • Provide mentorship and support to both pre-registration and post-registration staff.
  • Achieve individual PREP requirements in accordance with the standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Education / Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse
  • Post graduate course in Critical Care

Experience / Knowledge

  • Sufficient critical care experience and a skilled competent critical care nursing practitioner able to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Experience in audit & research
