Staff Nurse – Emergency Department

The future of Emergency Care in Dorset remains exciting, with a major new Emergency site being created in Bournemouth for 2025, which will see it being one of the biggest Emergency Departments on the South Coast. The Royal Bournemouth Hospital, be at the forefront of this development with our staff being the cornerstone of the new nursing team in the future.

Combined, the Poole and Royal Bournemouth Emergency Departments see over 400 patients per day, each encompassing all major specialties and Poole was ranked in the top 6 of all Emergency Departments nationally for the standard of care that we deliver. Both sites also run an urgent treatment centre in collaboration with the local primary care service and manage minor injuries from across the conurbation.

This role requires: Diploma in Adult Nursing or Children’s Nursing / Degree in Nursing or related subject and an active UK NMC registration

Base Location: Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital

This service has a planned move from Poole site to Bournemouth site from Winter 2026.

If a role or service relocates as part of a planned move, excess mileage will not be reimbursed. Travel from home to the new work base will be classed as a normal commute. Any other changes will be managed under Trust or national terms and conditions.
