Staff Nurse (Band 6) – West Wing Clinical Research Centre

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated nurse to join the West Wing Clinical Research Centre (WWCRC), delivering innovative and early‑phase oncology clinical trials at the forefront of cancer care. The successful candidate will coordinate and deliver complex clinical trial protocols, administer SACT and investigational treatments, monitor and support patients throughout their treatment journey, and work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high‑quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence‑led care to patients.
• Exercise clinical judgement and decision‑making about patient needs in terms of long‑term goals or plans.
• Participate fully in the day‑to‑day organisation and running of clinical trials, including the recruitment, education and monitoring of patients entering a clinical trial and liaison as required with trial sponsors.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with oncology or acute care experience.
• Strong clinical and organisational skills.
• Passion for research and service development.
• Previous clinical research experience desirable, though not essential.
• Full training and support will be provided.
