VodafoneThree – Senior Manager, HBB Engineering

Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Shape and drive the technical roadmap – setting goals, defining project timelines, allocating resources, and ensuring everything lands on time, within budget, and to an exceptional standard.
• Bring engineering and business teams together, creating seamless communication and alignment around shared outcomes and evolving customer needs.
• Build and nurture high‑performing engineering teams, coaching leaders, mentoring talent, and fostering a culture rooted in collaboration, growth, and modern engineering practices.
• Guide technical design across our Buy journeys, ensuring solutions align with strategic intent and deliver an outstanding customer experience.
• Act as the technical subject‑matter expert for product owners, analysts, architects, commercial teams, and other critical stakeholders.
• Support long‑term commercial and technology planning, helping shape new features that meet future demand.
• Drive best‑in‑class performance, ensuring reliability, scalability, and customer satisfaction sit at the heart of every delivery.
• Bring deep, end‑to‑end knowledge of engineering technologies such as React, Java, Node.js, microservices, RESTful APIs, and cloud‑native architectures.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading engineering teams and shaping high‑performance cultures.
• Confidence in Agile delivery, with hands‑on experience in Scrum and/or Kanban.
• Strong communication skills – able to communicate with clarity and impact, adapting style to audience.
• Successful track record of leading teams and projects across multiple locations, thriving in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
