Job Description:

A motivated service engineer is required for our award-winning Sunday Times Fast Track 100 engineering client. Excellent salary circa £40k+ based on experience and beneficial perks including an annual company bonus, generous holidays, and a contributory pension scheme.

Qualifications

  • Engineering qualification: HNC, HND level 2/3 NVQ engineering or above, ideally in electrical, electro‑mechanical, mechanical or similar disciplines (vehicle plant, automotive, machinery).
  • Service, repair, installation, diagnostic, calibration experience of large vehicles, heavy plant machinery, basic petrol, diesel engines or generators, large and small machines or similar machinery plant equipment or vehicles.
  • Some electrical engineering experience and knowledge, hydraulics, ability to read engineering drawings and electrical diagrams, ideally automotive or vehicle plant.
  • 12 v / 24 v DC automotive or plant‑type experience – voltage experience desirable.
  • Ex‑forces engineers, ex‑military, REME technicians, RE plant operators with service and maintenance experience of plant, trucks, tanks, heavy plant equipment, fleet of vehicles – highly regarded.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnostic, inspection, part identification, testing, service and repair, rectification of faults of electrical machinery at the depot.
  • Installation of safety controls, safety load indicators (SLI) control panels on plant equipment.
  • Safety compliance and preparation of vehicles and plant machinery for sale, hire, exhibition, market, customers and fleet.
  • Daily repair, service and installation of safety and control systems to plant machinery control panels.
  • Preparation of award‑winning vehicles for sale to customers and fleet exhibitions with emphasis on cleanliness, safety compliance and presentation.
