Field Service Engineer – Scientific & Industrial Laboratory Equipment
Salary: £42K – £48K plus a 10% bonus (earnings £46K – £53K), full vehicle expenses, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Locations: Nottingham, Leicester, Rugby, Coventry, Northampton.
Role Overview
This role is home‑based and involves travelling to customer sites throughout the region to perform planned preventive maintenance, service, breakdown and repair of leading‑edge instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on a wide range of laboratory instrumentation.
- Respond to breakdowns, conduct on‑site repairs and provide technical support.
- Travel to customer sites across the specified territory, maintaining high levels of customer service.
- Document service activity and update maintenance records accurately.
- Collaborate with engineering, sales and customer teams to ensure optimal product performance.
Required Background
- Qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, general Engineering or Science.
- Experience as a customer‑facing field service engineer or an ex‑HM Forces Engineer.
- Experience servicing, maintaining and repairing high‑value capital equipment.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the territory.
- No laboratory equipment experience required; full training will be provided.
