Manufacturing BOM Engineer – Release Specialist

A leading automotive client is undergoing a major transformation in how it designs and builds its vehicles, including the introduction of a cutting-edge PLM system (3DExperience). As part of this shift, we’re looking for a Manufacturing BOM Engineer – Release Specialist to join the team and play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and smooth delivery of Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs).

This is a year contract position paying £210 a day. The site is Whitley in Coventry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and release Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) using DELMIA/3DExperience
  • Ensure all MBOM updates are accurate, validated, and delivered on time across the vehicle lifecycle
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and change management
  • Track release progress, resolve issues, and escape risks when needed
  • Support manufacturing teams with alerts and internal deviations, ensuring build accuracy
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of release processes and system integration

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in engineering release or BOM management (preferably in automotive)
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and part structures
  • Comfortable navigating complex engineering structures and working with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience with DELMIA, 3DExperience, or similar PLM tools
  • Familiarity with SAP S4 Hana, WERS, GSPAS, or other automotive systems is a plus
  • Experience working in Agile environments and using tools like JIRA or Confluence is beneficial
