Day Centre Officer

Location: Harry Smith Complex, Lanark.Hours: 21hrs per week, permanent.Work Pattern: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8.45am – 3.45pm.Salary: £16.07 – £17.33 per hour, £17,595 – £18,975.

We are looking for a motivated and caring Day Centre Officer to join our team supporting adults with learning disabilities. This rewarding role involves helping individuals reach and maintain their maximum potential by promoting independence, developing skills and encouraging choice and responsibility in their daily lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing assessment and review of individual programmes
  • Assist service users in planning and achieving their personal goals
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of progress
  • Participate in regular service user reviews
  • Deliver and support a range of activities, including educational, vocational, social and recreational programmes
  • Provide personal care support, including moving and assisting, where required
  • Work in partnership with families, social work staff and external organisations
  • Promote access to community facilities and opportunities
  • Contribute to the centre’s role as a valued community resource

Essential Qualifications

  • SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Social Care, HNC in Social Care, or willingness to work towards these qualifications
  • Experience working in a health or social care environment
  • Experience supporting individuals with personal care needs

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience of administering medication
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or older people
