Job Description:

Bannister Farm is looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker to join the team. This is a full time, 40 hours role. Bannister Farm is located in Leyland, Lancashire and offers residential support to five autistic adults, some of whom may have a learning disability. The home is located off a main road in a pleasant neighbourhood.

What you’ll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team committed to residents’ wellbeing, using personalised approaches and proven therapies. You will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual care plans, undertake routine tasks and activities, and support residents to maintain dignity and treatment.

  • Supervise and support the delivery of person-centred support and care.
  • Provide leadership during shifts, including handovers, role allocation, and effective communication.
  • Ensure residents have person-centred plans in place and are supported to participate in meaningful activities.
  • Deliver team supervisions and contribute to professional development.
  • Administer medication safely and in line with procedures.
  • Manage service users’ finances and contribute to budget management in accordance with policy.
  • Complete and oversee accurate record-keeping, reporting, and compliance with legislation.
  • Monitor and support team performance, addressing immediate operational issues as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date training and knowledge to ensure safe and effective practice.

What you’ll bring to the role

Resilience, empathy and strong leadership skills are essential. Your experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker will allow you to coach, motivate and promote choice, dignity and independence for those you support.

  • Previous experience as a Support Worker or Senior Support Worker is essential.
  • Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to supervise, coach, and motivate others.
  • Committed to promoting choice, dignity, and independence for those we support.
  • Knowledge of care standards, policies, and safeguarding practices.
  • Reliable, flexible, and proactive in problem-solving.
  • A caring and respectful approach to supporting others.
