Clinical Support Worker – Outpatient Department

Job overview

Band 3 Clinical Support Worker roles are now available in the Outpatient Department at Furness General Hospital and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to provide high quality, compassionate, patient‑focused care within our outpatient services.

Main duties of the job

  • Support clinical service delivery under supervision.
  • Work flexibly within the team to cover the needs of the service.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, IT and customer care skills.
  • Work both independently and as part of the wider team.
  • Previous experience in outpatients is an advantage but not essential.

Working for our organisation

Our trust operates three main hospitals (Furness General Hospital, Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Westmorland General Hospital) and several community health facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Person specification

Education

  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Minimum 2 years experience at Clinical Support Worker level.
  • ECDL or equivalent.

Experience

  • Previous experience in a care environment.
  • Manual handling of patients using lifting aids.
  • Experience within the designated area.

Skills, ability and knowledge

  • Knowledge of Clinical Governance and confidentiality.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Empathy and caring for people.
  • Awareness of the NHS structure and current issues.
