Job Details

Job title: Help Desk Operator (Reference 000012265). Permanent contract, Grade E. Salary range: £27,694 – £29,540 a year, actual salary £23,925 a year. Location: Kedleston Rd training centre and occasional corporate FM buildings. Hours: Monday to Friday 8 am – 4 pm, Term time only. Closing date for applications: 3 July 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional and welcoming front‑of‑house service, acting as the first point of contact for stakeholders, customers and visitors.
  • Manage reception duties and deal with customer enquiries on a day‑to‑day basis to ensure a positive customer experience and efficient operation of the training centre.
  • Support the FM helpdesk, responding to requests and providing assistance as required.
  • Cover absences within the Operator pool and maintain continuity of service.
  • Record visitor details accurately and coordinate with Area Managers and other teams to make efficient use of resources.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to respond to personal contact from customers in a way that meets Customer Service Standards.
  • Experience or willingness to work in a front‑of‑house environment.
  • Strong multitasking ability and skill at prioritising workload.
  • Ability to work in partnership with Area Managers for effective and efficient use of resources.
