Manufacturing Operator

Location: Perth

Hours: Monday to Friday, rotating shifts

Early Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm

Late Shift: 1:30pm – 10:00pm

Pay Rate: £13.46 per hour + 20% shift allowance

The Opportunity

Manpower Scotland is recruiting Manufacturing Operators for a leading manufacturing facility in Perth. This role offers the chance to work in a fast‑paced production environment where quality, teamwork, and attention to detail are key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing processes.
  • Complete production documentation accurately and in line with quality requirements.
  • Set up and operate production equipment and conveyor systems.
  • Read and interpret work orders to prepare materials and components for production.
  • Carry out quality checks on materials, products, and packaging throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Fill, label, seal, sort, and package finished products.
  • Monitor product weights and quantities, making adjustments where required.
  • Support equipment validation activities and production line changeovers.
  • Perform line clearance activities, including material reconciliation and disposal.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, and workplace organisation.
  • Follow all health, safety, quality, GMP, and ISO procedures at all times.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, laboratory, or similar environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Flexible approach to changing priorities and production schedules.

Desirable

  • Experience working within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems and production documentation processes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move throughout the shift.
  • Comfortable with bending, reaching, lifting, and manual handling tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs (approximately 23kg) on occasion.
  • Ability to use hand tools and production equipment safely.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow site safety requirements.
