Grounds Maintenance Operative

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative based in Eastleigh, you will be responsible for the cyclical upkeep of communal areas for a diverse customer base, including market‑rent, shared ownership and independent living communities spread across Eastleigh, Hampshire and surrounding estates.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grass, shrubs, hedges and other outdoor plantings across all sites.
• Respond to hazards such as dumped items and snow removal in independent living blocks.
• Manage trees, retaining existing trees wherever possible and replanting when necessary.
• Carry out soft landscaping and minor tree work as required.
• Plan workload on a fortnightly basis from the main base to cover all assigned sites.
• Provide a uniform, van with van vault, racking, inverter, fuel card, tablet and mobile device.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Practical amenity horticultural knowledge and experience.
• PA1 and PA6AW qualifications (desirable).
• NPTC certification or equivalent (desirable).
• Full driver’s licence (towing licence desirable).
• Reliable and proactive team player with strong eye for detail.
