A growing engineering business is looking for a hands-on Logistics Operative to support equipment deliveries, customer handovers, collections, yard operations and workshop preparation.
This is a varied role suited to someone practical, reliable and customer-focused who enjoys working with equipment and taking pride in keeping things organised, safe and running smoothly.
Duties
- Deliver and collect equipment from customer sites.
- Set up equipment and complete basic customer handovers.
- Record returned equipment condition and report any damage.
- Clean and prepare equipment before dispatch.
- Move assets between the yard, workshop and storage areas.
- Support loading and unloading safely.
- Liaise with third-party transport drivers.
- Keep the yard clean, tidy and well organised.
- Support waste control, facilities tasks and general engineering support.
- Follow RAMS, method statements and site procedures.
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with no disqualifications.
- Experience in logistics, delivery, yard work, warehouse, plant hire, stores, engineering support or a similar hands-on role.
- Practical, reliable and safety-conscious approach.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Positive, can-do attitude.
Desirable
- Forklift licence.
- CSCS card.
- IPAF or working at height qualification.
- Experience with mechanical/electrical equipment.
- Plant hire, tool hire, engineering or equipment handling experience.
Training can be provided for the right person.
