SEND Classroom Assistant – North Shields
Leader Education are currently seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated SEND Classroom Assistant to join a welcoming SEND school in North Shields. This is a long-term temporary opportunity working Monday to Friday, supporting pupils aged 4–11 within a nurturing and engaging learning environment.
The school supports approximately 210 pupils and is committed to ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their full potential.
Role Details
- Location: North Shields
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
- Contract: Long-term temporary
- Age Range: 4–11 years

As a SEND Classroom Assistant, You Will
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs in both classroom and outdoor settings
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and creative lessons
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
- Encourage positive behaviour and social development
- Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have experience working with children or young people with SEND
- Be patient, compassionate, and adaptable
- Have strong communication and teamwork skills
- Be passionate about helping children achieve their potential
- Be able to commit to full-time hours on a long-term basis
