Workshop Technician

Full‑time (37 hours) – Permanent

Grade C1, £34,434 – £37,280 per annum

North Kesteven District Council is seeking an experienced and highly competent professional to join the Waste & Street Service team based at Metheringham Depot. This post puts you at the heart of an operational team who delivers the Council’s waste collection service.

Job Requirements

  • NVQ level 3 (or equivalent experience) or above in heavy vehicle maintenance
  • Category C licence
  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician, Mechanic or Fitter
  • Experience of refuse collection vehicles (desirable)
  • Loler and IRTEC accreditation (desirable)

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair and maintain a range of HGVs and LGVs to DVSA standards
  • Undertake scheduled servicing, MOT preparations and safety inspections
  • Respond to vehicle defects and breakdowns using diagnostic equipment
  • Complete accurate service records associated to the role
