Job overview
As a School Meals Supervisory Assistant (SMSA) you will supervise pupils during the lunch period in the dining hall. Your responsibilities include promoting positive behaviour, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children, maintaining a calm and friendly atmosphere, encouraging good table manners, and supporting pupils in their play. You will also respond to minor behavioural needs and report any concerns to senior staff.
Job requirements
- Ability to engage positively with children and promote good behaviour
- Reliability and flexibility to support additional hours when needed
- Good communication skills and a caring approach
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow safeguarding procedure
