Job Description

Job Title: Gas Testing EngineerLocation: West and East MidlandsHours: Monday – Friday 39 hours per week

This is a hands‑on technical role supporting the delivery of gas testing and analysis services across the East and West Midlands. It may involve at times covering other parts of the UK. You will take ownership of projects from start to finish, combining operational site work with technical expertise to ensure accurate, safe and high‑quality outcomes in line with SGS standards. It’s a great opportunity to contribute to a growing area of the business while developing specialist knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out onsite gas testing and analysis activities, delivering accurate results and submitting reports within agreed timeframes.
  • You’ll be working in laboratories and clean room environments, putting documentation together and recording results.
  • Support the preparation, maintenance, and operation of testing equipment and analysis tools.
  • Work to strict SOPs.
  • Develop and maintain strong technical knowledge of gas analysis.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and key stakeholders, supporting high‑quality service delivery.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with SGS quality, safety and operational standards, with flexibility to travel across the UK, Ireland and occasionally Europe.

Qualifications

Relevant engineering or technical qualification or equivalent experience.

Additional technical certifications or safety passport.
