Behaviour Teaching Assistant

A welcoming and supportive school in Thatcham is seeking a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural support and help them engage positively with learning.
The Behaviour Teaching Assistant will work with students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, supporting them to manage emotions, develop positive behaviour strategies, and build confidence. The successful Behaviour Teaching Assistant will be a positive role model and a key source of support throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils who display challenging behaviour in and out of the classroom
- Help implement behaviour management plans and intervention strategies
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning
- Support emotional regulation and conflict resolution
- Build strong and trusting relationships with pupils
- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals
The school is looking for a resilient, patient, and proactive Behaviour Teaching Assistant who can remain calm under pressure and maintain a consistent approach. Experience within education, youth work, mentoring, care, or behavioural support would be highly beneficial.
The successful Behaviour Teaching Assistant will join a dedicated and collaborative team that provides excellent training and professional development opportunities. The Behaviour Teaching Assistant will gain valuable experience supporting children with a variety of behavioural and emotional needs.
