About The Role

We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist provision in the BS13 area. This role involves working with pupils across Key Stages 1 to 4 with a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to meet a wide range of complex needs.
  • Teach and support pupils with ASC and PMLD using appropriate strategies and interventions.
  • Create a safe, engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals to support pupil development.
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and track pupil progress.
  • Support communication, sensory needs and physical development where required.
  • Foster independence, social skills and emotional well‑being.

About You

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Has experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly ASC and/or PMLD (preferred).
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of differentiated teaching strategies and inclusive practice.
  • Is patient, adaptable and resilient, with a positive and nurturing approach.
  • Is confident working across KS1‑KS4.
  • Has excellent communication skills and works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Is committed to improving outcomes for pupils with complex needs.

Essential Criteria

  • Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), Monday—Friday 8:30–15:30.
  • Right to work in the UK – no sponsorship or skilled worker visa.
  • Minimum two recent references, covering the last two years.
  • Up‑to‑date DBS/police check, or willingness to obtain one.
  • Will assist with a new DBS if required, to be refunded after 20 days of work.
