About the role
Balfour Beatty Rail are recruiting for a Senior CAD Technician to come and join the team and work out of our London, Derby or Redhill offices as well as remotely (working within a Hybrid model). In this role the Senior CAD Technician will be supporting the design engineers in the preparation of Civil and Rail engineering models and drawings.
What you’ll be doing
- Understand and comply with project and function‑specific standards and practices and tasks.
- Assist in estimating timescales for specific tasks.
- Assist in producing technical literature, enquiry documentation and reports.
- Assist in training junior staff and directing contract/agency personnel & technicians with their duties.
- Act safely and work to eliminate hazards at source.
- Assist in compliance with drawing codes of practice and standards.
- Work to ensure compliance with Network Rail and TfL drawing standards.
Who we’re looking for
- Experienced Rail/Civil CAD Technician or similar industry.
- Good technical background in engineering modelling and drawing ideally in the rail environment.
- Experience with buildings and services drawings.
- Good working knowledge of Microstation and Projectwise.
- 3D capability necessary.
- AutoCAD experience an advantage.
- Civil 3D experience desirable.
