An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Patent Administrator/IP Paralegal to join the firm's growing support team. Working closely with Patent Attorneys and Technical Assistants, you will play a key role in the management of UK, European and international patent portfolios, ensuring deadlines are met and clients receive an exceptional level of service. This position offers a varied workload, exposure to high-quality matters and genuine long-term career prospects.

Key Responsibilities

    n

  • Providing administrative and case management support to Patent Attorneys and Technical Assistants
  • Managing IP records and monitoring official, client and internal deadlines
  • Preparing and checking documentation for UK, European and international patent filings
  • Drafting standard correspondence and preparing client reporting letters
  • Liaising with overseas associates and official bodies
  • Handling recordals including assignments, mergers and licences
  • Preparing patent portfolio reports and status updates
  • Managing billing processes and monitoring outstanding costs
  • Using client-specific systems to receive instructions, report progress and submit invoices
  • Supporting the wider team with the smooth running of client portfolios

Requirements

    n

  • Previous experience within Patent Administration or an IP Paralegal position
  • CIPA Patent Administrators Certificate would be advantageous, although not essential
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • A proactive, flexible and positive approach to work
  • A minimum of two A Levels (or equivalent), with a degree being beneficial
