DevOps Team Lead – Development Platform

Primary Responsibilities

  • Line management of a cross‑location team (onsite / nearshore)
  • People development, performance, knowledge, and skills management
  • Optimize team ways of working and foster a sense of ownership and collaboration with other department teams
  • Understand development team needs and design CI/CD solutions for a Java/Springboot stack
  • Drive observability, reliability, and adoption of software development technologies
  • Maintain, architect, and evolve the development environment to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Collaborate with ops teams on technology adoption in higher environments
  • Own, improve, and architect build pipelines and ensure maintenance of the Jenkins cluster
  • Coordinate with tech leadership and peers; break down work programs into phases and actionable items
  • Drive refinements, prioritize work, and arbitrate project work vs. ad‑hoc requests
  • Plan and execute roadmap initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Experience managing senior individual contributors across multiple locations
  • Proven track record of onboarding and adapting to new technologies
  • Strong ownership mindset with effective problem‑solving capabilities
  • Experience building and packaging JVM‑based projects with a focus on security compliance
  • Hands‑on Jenkins experience: shared libraries, declarative/scripted pipelines, Job DSL
  • Proficient in GitLab code hosting and CI/CD practices
  • Experience with containers and container orchestration systems
  • Experience with IaC, cloud computing, and DevSecOps/GitOps practices
  • Experience with an observability stack

Nice to Have

  • Java/Springboot projects experience
  • GitOps proficiency with ArgoCD (ApplicationSets, sync policies, multi‑environment promotion)
  • AWS experience (EKS, EC2, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, S3) with production‑grade reliability
  • Kubernetes workload management, Helm/Helmfile chart authoring, Docker image best practices
  • Terraform module development and state management for AWS infrastructure
  • Monitoring with CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK; incident investigation skills
  • DevSecOps practices across pipelines and infrastructure; container and IaC vulnerability scanning
  • Secrets management using External Secrets Operator with AWS Secrets Manager/SSM
  • Documentation of systems, runbooks, pipelines, and platform processes

Location Expectations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
