Multiskilled Shift Engineer

Multiskilled Operative – Hospital Maintenance | £30 per hour

Start date 16/03/2026. This is an ongoing maintenance position on a secure healthcare site.

Shift Pattern (Continental Shift)

• 12‑hour shifts – 6am–6pm (days) / 6pm–6am (nights)
• 14 shifts per month

Rate: £30 per hour (flat rate for days and nights).

Responsibilities

• Fault diagnosis across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Service, maintenance and repair of mechanical plant and water systems
• Basic electrical maintenance and small works
• General building maintenance, handyman duties and basic carpentry
• Water sampling, incubation, flushing and cooling tower checks
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
• Working in live environments including hospital wards and critical areas
• Ensuring all works are completed safely and in line with hospital regulations

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Multiskilled Operative within commercial or healthcare environments
• Strong mechanical and electrical fault‑finding ability
• Basic DBS check (essential)
• Own tools and full PPE
• Relevant qualifications in mechanical or electrical disciplines preferred
• Experience working in hospitals or critical environments highly desirable
