Location: London 3 days in the office 2 from home
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, shifts between 6:00am – 6:00pm

About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Staffing Operations Team Leader, you will be leading the daily coordination, deployment and support of our flexible reception and guest services team across London.
This is a busy and fast-paced team of 30+ reception and support staff. You’ll take ownership of a direct team of 30+ employees, ensuring high standards of service, strong performance, and a positive team environment. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll play a key part in driving operational success and continuous improvement.
This is an extremely important role, with the resourcing needs of the business dependent on the efficient running of the department as well meeting the service levels expected on the ground. The department plays a critical role in the success of Portico as a whole, with demanding challenges that must be met and as such you are always a solution driven operator who demonstrates flexibility and supports the Team Support Management with ownership of all requests. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 30+ team members
- Support the Operations Manager in day-to-day operations
- Monitor service delivery and ensure operational targets are met
- Manage team rotas and staffing to cover operational hours (6am–6pm)
- Handle escalations and ensure issues are resolved effectively
- Drive performance through regular 1:1s, feedback, and reviews
- Manage employee relations with HR support (absence, conduct, performance)
- Support onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience managing teams of 15+ employees
- Background in operations, customer service, or reception environments
- Strong knowledge of HR processes (performance management, conduct, absence)
- Ability to work flexibly across shifts between 6:00am – 6:00pm
- Confident leader with strong communication and coaching skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Desirable
- Experience supporting large teams (15+ people)
- Previous shift leadership or duty management experience
- Experience with workforce planning or rota systems
