The successful candidate will work alongside experienced colleagues to deliver engaging Drama lessons across the curriculum, helping students develop performance skills, creativity, critical thinking, and a genuine appreciation of the performing arts. The successful candidate will:
Teach Drama across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 provision.
Plan and deliver creative and engaging lessons that develop acting, performance, communication, and analytical skills.
Introduce students to a range of theatrical styles, practitioners, texts, and performance techniques.
Create an inclusive classroom environment where students of all abilities feel confident to participate.
Support students preparing for GCSE and A-Level Drama qualifications.
Develop students’ confidence, imagination, teamwork, and self-expression.
Use a range of practical and theoretical approaches to bring Drama lessons to life.
Contribute to school productions, workshops, clubs, trips, and wider Performing Arts opportunities.
Assess student progress and provide clear, constructive feedback to support improvement.
Participate fully in the wider pastoral and cultural life of the school.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a candidate who:
Holds QTS or is currently completing teacher training and working towards QTS.
Has a degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or a related subject.
Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and a genuine passion for Drama education.
Can inspire young people through creative, engaging, and well-structured lessons.
Is committed to supporting students’ personal development and academic achievement.
Uses inclusive teaching strategies to encourage participation and confidence.
Is reflective, enthusiastic, and keen to continue developing as a teacher.
Works collaboratively and contributes positively to a department team.
Is excited to support productions, enrichment activities, and the wider school community.
