Legal Assistant – Commercial Litigation 

Location: Swansea Contract: Permanent, Full-time  Hours: 35 hours, Monday – Friday,9am – 5pm  Start Date: ASAP 

We’re looking for a proactive and organised Legal Assistant to join our Commercial Litigation team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a busy and successful department, working alongside experienced lawyers on a diverse range of commercial disputes while gaining valuable hands-on experience and developing your legal knowledge.

Candidates should be aware that their first day of employment may be based at an alternative Redkite office within our Pembrokeshire to Gloucestershire network, for group onboarding. A willingness to travel and spend the day away from your usual place of work is therefore required.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Helping our Fee Earners stay on top of their matters by keeping everything organised, prioritised, and progressing smoothly  playing a key role in delivering exceptional client service.
  • Getting involved in a variety of hands-on legal work, including drafting correspondence, carrying out legal research, and building strong relationships with clients and third parties.
  • Becoming the go-to person for preparing and managing document bundles, from hearings and trials to witness statement bundles, ensuring everything is ready when it matters most.
  • Supporting the smooth running of the team by opening new files, maintaining accurate records, and keeping administrative processes on track.
  • Assisting with billing and file management, helping to ensure matters are managed efficiently from start to finish.
  • Building your legal knowledge, commercial awareness, and practical skills every day, gaining valuable experience within a busy and successful Commercial Litigation team.
  • Making a genuine difference behind the scenes, supporting lawyers and clients alike while developing your career in a dynamic and rewarding area of law

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Strong IT skills, particularly across the Microsoft Office suite, with the confidence to learn new systems quickly. 
  • Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in all aspects of your work. 

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to build positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and external contacts. 
  • Dependable and accountable, taking ownership of tasks and delivering work to a high standard. 
  • Client-focused, with a commitment to providing an exceptional service and positive client experience. 
  • Collaborative and supportive, working effectively as part of a team and contributing to collective success.
