MCS Group are proud to be partnering with an organisation in their search for a Business Development Officer. This position is ideal for a proactive and relationship-focused professional with experience in economic development, skills, employability or programme delivery, capable of managing stakeholder engagement, coordinating funded initiatives, and delivering impactful projects that address workforce needs and support business growth.
The Role:
- Drive innovative skills and employability initiatives that create real opportunities for individuals and support the workforce.
- Collaborate with businesses, education providers and key partners to shape solutions that meet local skills needs.
- Lead exciting projects and programmes that make a lasting impact on communities and economic growth.
- Work directly with employers to identify challenges, unlock opportunities and support business success.
- Secure and manage funding to bring ambitious ideas and high-impact initiatives to life.
- Design and deliver engaging events, workshops and development programmes that inspire participation and growth.
- Monitor the success of projects, using insights and data to continuously improve outcomes and maximise impact.
The Person
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Essential:
- Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) or extensive relevant experience.
- Proven experience delivering economic development, skills and/or employability initiatives.
- Knowledge of external funding programmes and experience supporting funding applications, and claims processes.
- Holds a valid driving licence (or equivalent transport arrangements where applicable) and is available to work outside normal hours, including evenings, when required.
