Senior Quantity Surveyor
Cala Consulting are recruiting for a SeniorQuantity Surveyorfor their award-winning client. The company deliverbespoke projects for a wide range of clients throughout the UK and Ireland; from blue chip big names to smaller independent companies.
Purpose ofjob:
The role will entail supportingtheQS department in a range of activities as the company continue to provide a high standard service for our blue chip and independent clients. The successful candidate will work on a diverse range of small works, major refurbishment and new-build contracts with our client portfolio working throughout the UK & ROI, primarily within the Retail and Hospitality and Heritage Sectors.
The main duties and responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyorinclude:
Setting of project budgets and allowances
Valuations and agreement of variations
Preparation of CVRs and projected profitability reports
Identification of labour, material requirements,sourcingand obtaining quotations
Liaising with our purchasing department
Preparation and agreement of final accounts expediently after works completion
Supervising and training junior members of staffifrequired
Payment ofsubcontractors and specialist suppliers
Qualifications & experience:
BSc in Quantity Surveying (or similar)
Minimum 5 years post qualification experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
Commercial awareness and the ability to independently deal with complex projects
Strong communicationskills with the ability to negotiate with subcontractors,clientsand client representatives
