Bearwood Primary and Nursery School is a dynamic primary school in Poole, Dorset, catering for children aged 2 to 11. We are seeking a KS2 Class Teacher to join our team starting September 2026.

Location: Bearwood Primary & Nursery School, Poole, Dorset

Contract: Full time, 1.0 Permanent

Salary: Main – Upper Pay Scale (£32,916 – £51,048 per annum)

Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and assess engaging KS2 curriculum that meets national requirements.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment where pupils can thrive academically, emotionally and socially.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Support children using a trauma‑informed approach, ensuring wellbeing and safety.
  • Contribute to school life beyond teaching, including school events and school improvement work.
  • Provide after‑school learning opportunities to support pupil achievement.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified teacher or student (ECTs are welcome).
  • Demonstrated passion, motivation and positivity with the belief that you can make a difference.
  • Experience or commitment to raising standards and achievement across all areas of school life.
  • A willingness to undertake professional development to broaden understanding and knowledge.
  • Ability to use a trauma‑informed approach to support all children.
