SEN Teacher

Location: Tanworth-in-Arden Church of England Primary School

Salary: MPS

Hours: 0.5 FTE (four mornings per week)

Days a week: Four mornings per week

Closing date: Midday on Friday 19th June 2026

Interview week commencing Monday 22nd June 2026

Anticipated start date: As soon as possible

Contract Type: Fixed Term

End date (Fixed Term): 31 August 2027 (or as agreed)

Reason for Fixed Term: Linked to the continuation of SEND funding and the school’s requirement to deliver provision specified within an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

Responsibilities

  • Delivering highly personalised teaching for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs in line with the outcomes identified within their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Planning, delivering and reviewing a personalised curriculum that supports progress, independence, communication and emotional regulation. Working closely with the SENDCo, support staff, parents and external professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to meeting the pupil’s needs. Monitoring progress, contributing to assessments and annual reviews, and adapting provision in response to emerging needs. Supporting successful inclusion within the wider life of the school and helping the pupil develop confidence, relationships and a sense of belonging. Championing inclusive practice and contributing to the school’s commitment to ensuring every child can access learning and experience success. Contributing to the school’s statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

Qualifications

  • Experience of teaching pupils with ASD and/or complex needs. Strong knowledge of adaptive teaching and personalised learning approaches. Experience of using communication systems such as PECS, AAC or other approaches that support communication and engagement. The ability to build positive, nurturing and consistent relationships with pupils, families and professionals. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Resilience, flexibility and a commitment to achieving the very best outcomes for children with additional needs. A commitment to inclusion and ensuring every child experiences life in all its fullness. Displaying commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people.
