Location: London Job Type: Permanent Hours: 9.00am – 5.30pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week) Salary: Up to £34,715 per annum

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant General Manager to join a premium student accommodation property in London. Working closely with the General Manager, you will support the day-to-day operation of the residence, ensuring exceptional customer service, high operational standards and an outstanding resident experience.

This is a varied and hands‑on leadership role, overseeing key areas including resident services, sales, maintenance and housekeeping. You will play a key role in supporting occupancy, resident satisfaction and operational performance while leading and developing a successful onsite team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager in the day-to-day operation of the property
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure a positive resident experience
  • Assist in overseeing sales, maintenance and housekeeping functions
  • Support occupancy and retention objectives through excellent customer engagement
  • Lead, support and motivate team members to achieve operational objectives
  • Assist with resident check‑ins, check‑outs and room turnaround processes
  • Handle customer queries, complaints and operational issues in a professional manner
  • Ensure company standards, policies and procedures are maintained at all times
  • Monitor property presentation and service delivery standards
  • Support health and safety compliance across the residence
  • Work collaboratively with regional and support teams to achieve business goals

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience managing teams within a similar role or environment
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to present, interpret and analyse information accurately and effectively
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and motivate colleaguesStrong customer service and communication skills
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced operational environment
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations would be advantageous
