Community Healthcare Support Worker

Join Hampshire and Isle of Wight NHS Foundation Trust as a Healthcare Support Worker. This role supports communities across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, delivering safe, high‑quality care to patients in their own homes from 8am to 8pm, seven days a week.

Main duties of the job

  • Work under supervision following written care plans and care pathways devised by the Registered Nurse.
  • Follow prescribed care plans and treatment protocols.
  • Follow HPCT Policies and Procedures.
  • Carry out prescribed tasks and report any variances to the Registered Nurse.
  • Perform delegated responsibility for Patient Support Teams administrative tasks.
  • Provide general administrative support to the team.

Qualifications

  • NVQ in Health Care or equivalent, or willingness to commit to training.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Employment details

  • Location: Various sites – Bitterne, Southern Parishes (Hedge End, West End, Hamble, Netley, Bursledon, surrounding areas), Hythe & Waterside, Portsmouth and Basingstoke.
  • Working patterns: Part‑time (22.5 hrs, 3 days a week) at Waterside and Bitterne; 30 hrs, 4 days a week at Southern Parishes; full‑time (37.5 hrs) at Portsmouth and Basingstoke.
  • Salary: £25,760 to £27,476 per year (pro‑rata for part‑time). Permanent contract.

Other requirements

  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.
  • Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application. The Trust does not offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
