Reporting to the Moulding Planned Maintenance Leader, the Mould Repair Shift Engineering Technician will provide toolroom based support for repair of plastic tools and equipment to meet high‑volume production demands. The role includes on‑shift leadership and mentorship for Mould Repair Technicians & apprentices.

Responsibilities
- Economically utilise time and in‑house facilities to produce and repair moulding tool parts.
- Provide engineering support for production where needed.
- Utilise skills in cylindrical and surface precision grinding, milling, turning, polishing and laser engraving.
- Manufacture jigs and fixtures to support production.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices, safe working practices and high standards of housekeeping in the toolroom and other areas.
- Comply with all Safety Lockout and work warning systems.
- Prepare to respond to emergencies by working overtime as required by the Moulding Planned Maintenance Leader.
- Maintain spares records to facilitate replenishment and cost control.
- Coach, mentor and train toolroom associates & apprentices to use logical root‑cause analysis during resolution of mould tooling issues.
- Ensure that containment, corrective and preventative measures are implemented.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and toolroom process improvements to deliver the PM maintenance plan.
- Ensure that resource requirements are captured within the budget cycle.
Qualifications
- Level 3 apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or multi‑skilled engineering is essential.
- Experience ideally within a high‑volume injection moulding environment.
- Experience ideally in performing duties associated with mould tooling maintenance and repair.
- Experience in training and developing individuals.
- Knowledge of precision plastic mould repair techniques in an industrial environment would be an advantage.
- Ability to work from engineering drawings is a pre‑requisite.
- Excellent PC knowledge and capability.
Compensation
Salary Range: £27,600.00 – £42,075.00 GBP Annual. The role offers a competitive salary plus an 11% shift premium.
Work Schedule
Day shift onsite (7 am – 7 pm, 3 on / 3 off).
