About this job

Senior Support Worker based in Buxton, Derby. Lead and support children in a specialist residential home with an onsite education facility and adventure‑based curriculum.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide therapeutic care, education, and support to children with complex needs.
• Lead a team of support workers, setting standards and maintaining quality care.
• Record events, observations, and progress reports and implement care plans.
• Act as a positive role model, fostering trusting relationships.
• Work flexible shift patterns, including full days and sleep‑ins.

Requirements

• Minimum 12 months Children’s home experience.
• Level 3 residential child care qualification (or working towards).
• Experience with child‑centred, therapeutic models.
• Strong communication skills, caring, flexible and resilient.
• Flexibility to work shifts and sleep‑ins; full‑time and part‑time options available.
• A full UK driving licence is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS check required.
