Job role: Children’s Activity Based Support Worker.
Location: This role is based in Maer, ST5. You must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
Salary: £13.95 to £14.55 per hour.
Shift pattern: 39 hours per week, 4 consecutive days on followed by 7 days off, then 3 consecutive days on followed by 7 days off.
- Work 4 consecutive days followed by 7 days off; then 3 consecutive days followed by 7 days off.
- Full UK driving licence with vehicle access required.
Accommodation and meals will be provided during the four working days for consistent support to the children.
Work in an activity-based residential home designed for young people aged 8–18 who face social, emotional and mental health challenges.
The team offers a 12‑week programme to provide a change of scenery and help them build confidence through positive routines and activities.
The primary role is a care worker with a strong focus on adventure and physical activity, such as mountain biking, rock climbing, walking, and kayaking.
Key Responsibilities & Role Requirements
- Age & Driving License: Must be over 21 and hold a full UK driver’s licence.
- Commitment: Ability to work 39 hours per week, adhering to the 4 days on, 7 days off shift pattern, including sleep‑ins.
- Eligibility to work in the UK: Must have the right to work in the UK.
- Support & Care: Build nurturing relationships with young people, providing emotional stability and daily care to help them thrive.
- Engage in Outdoor Activities: Lead adventurous activities such as rock climbing, mountain biking, and kayaking to foster confidence and essential life skills.
- Personal Development: Serve as a role model, supporting personal and social development through structured activities and day‑to‑day care routines.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work within a supportive team to create a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for the children.
